Abstract

V originále

Degradation of alkaline fens by Sphagnum expansion increased in last decades. Chemistry of alkaline fen hummocks is suitable for Sphagnum survival and expansion. Humid climate facilitates Sphagnum expansion to alkaline fens. Calcium bicarbonate reduces desiccation damage in bryophytes.
