Abstract
Despite the relative restoration of Czech national economy level from 2013 to 2016, the absolute number of companies is lowering, regardless of radical simplification of administrative conditions and costs of founding a company. The subject of this article is analysis of the group of factors influencing development of the small and medium enterprises in the Czech Republic in 2016. The goal of the article is the comparison of the factors recognized in the analysis and finding the shift in the corporate economics paradigm on data from the years 2009, year of the ongoing fmancial depression and 2016, the year of further recovery of national economy. The research data for both years 2009 and 2016 were obtained through semi-opened questions survey, aiming toward problems in area of competitiveness of production, competitiveness in area of acquiring human resources, profitability and value added. These data are accompanied by key performance indicators ROA, ROS, solvency ratios and liquidity ratios. The research sample consists of 70 SMEs in all three sectors of economy.
