In English

This paper presents an analysis of the category of intertextuality (its role and functions) in the discourse of everyday communication. The abundance of quotations used by native speakers in the sphere of everyday communication impacts the development of intertextual and social competences (knowledge of realities, recognition and interpretation of intertextual relations in a communicative act) in the process of learning a foreign language.
