Abstract

Der Artikel fasst verschiedene Einstellungen zu verbalen Diminutiven in Tschechisch und Deutsch zusammen und versucht, den Kern dieses Phänomens aus morphologischer und semantischer Sicht zu erschließen. Eine kontrastive und korpusbasierte Analyse der tschechischen und deutschen verbalen Diminutivformen zeigt, dass nur wenige Suffixe (im Sinne von Bauer 1997) evaluativ zur Bildung von tatsächlichen verbaler Diminutiven verwendet werden können. Die meisten vermeintlich diminutiven Affixe sind eher als semantische Marker zu bezeichnen, die das Basisverb von seiner morphologischen Modifikation nach Aspekt, Phase oder Intensität unterscheiden.

Článek shrnuje různé postoje k českým a německým verbálním deminutivům a snaží se načrtnout jádro tohoto jevu z morfologického a sémantického hlediska. Kontrastivní korpusově založená analýza českých a německých verbálních diminutivních forem odhaluje, že jen málo přípon může být a bývá použito evaluativně k tvoření skutečných verbálních deminutiv. Většinou se totiž jedná o sémantické markery odlišující základní sloveso od jeho morfologické modifikace podle aspektu, fáze nebo intenzity.

Abstract (in English)

The paper sums up different attitudes towards verbal diminutives in Czech and German and tries to outline the core of this phenomenon from the morphological and semantic point of view. The contrastive and strictly corpus based analysis of the Czech and the German verbal diminutive forms reveals that only few suffixes can be used in an evaluative way (in terms of Bauer 1997) for forming real verbal diminutives. Further, most of the affixes considered being diminutive function as semantic markers differentiating the base verb from its morphological modification by aspect, phase or intensity.
