As a result the free drug concentration in the plasma increased and side effects may occur. The mechanism of drug-drug interaction can be competitive - both drugs bind to the same binding site, or independent - drugs bind to different binding sites and there is no interaction between them. Also mutual interaction can be emerged, when the drugs bind to different binding sites, but interaction of second drug with HSA caused conformational changes and thus decrease of first drug binding.In this study, the displacement of tryptophan and lidocaine from their binding sites on HSA by several drugs was investigated by capillary electrophoresis-frontal analysis.
