Abstract

V příspěvku jsou představena vybraná díla středověkého a raně novověkého písemnictví se vztahem k prostoru českých zemí dokládající mimo jiné různé přístupy k práci s jinojazyčnými prameny či přímými překladovými předlohami. Zahrnuta budou díla různých žánrů, resp. textových druhů (mj. duchovní a světská lyrika, dvorská rytířská literatura, Bible, didaktické moralizující texty, historiografická díla různých zaměření a období). Zvolený textový materiál zahrnuje nejběžnější užívané jazyky v českých zemích dotyčného období – češtinu, latinu a němčinu – v příslušných jazykověhistorických epochách. V ilustrativním průřezu budou představeny charakteristické okruhy překladové činnosti v širším smyslu ve starších obdobích, vyvíjející se akcenty a tomu odpovídající proměny překladatelských přístupů, jak se projevují v materiálu pravděpodobně vzniklém či recipovaném na našem území. Širší rámec pro reflexi sledovaných tendencí tvoří naopak v podstatě konstantní základní funkce překladu spočívající ve zprostředkování textů a idejí mezi různými jazykovými společenstvími a kulturními okruhy.

Abstract (in English)

Selected illustrative texts from the Middle Ages and the Early Modern period originating from the Bohemian lands or connected with this area and available in parallel versions in multiple languages are presented – mainly focusing on different approaches to translation and other forms of dealing with original texts. Sources of different genres or text types will be considered (e.g. religious as well as secular poetry, chivalric court literature, Bible, didactical and moralising texts or historiography). The analysed material represents the most frequently used languages in the Bohemian lands of the period in question (Latin, Czech, German). In an illustrative overview some typical features of translation activities in a broader sense will be discussed, furthermore the evolving accents and preferences with regard to translation – as they are present in the text material most likely originating in our lands or being reflected here. A broader context of the discussion of the observed tendencies and specificities is given by the general and mostly constant main objective of translation - in conveying texts and ideas among different linguistic communities and cultural spheres.
