Abstract
V originále
The first tetrapodomorph specimen from the Paleozoic sequences of the Moravian Karst (Moravo-Silesian Basin, Bohemian Massif, Czech Republic) is described. The well-pre served, cosmine-covered lateral extrascapular bone comes from the Upper Devonian (Famennian) hemipelagic Křtiny Limestone of the Líšeň Formation. The affinity to the “osteolepiforms” is inferred from the cosmine histology and morphological features of the bone. As signment to the Megalichthyiformes seems most probable. The associated fauna, e.g., clymenids, orthocone nautiloids, thin shelled bivalves, trilobites and crinoids, clearly demon strate a marine environment.
