Abstract (in English)

In 2016 the Moravian Museum commemorated the 55th anniversary of the over a long period most sought after museum exhibition dealing with the oldest history of mankind and its culture – the Anthropos Pavilion. The inception and development of the museum reflects in an interesting way social changes in a wider context. The text describes the reasons of the foundation of the predecessor of the today´s Anthropos Pavilion in the interwar period, its further development at the turn of the 1950s/1960s connected, on the other hand, with restrictions following from the situation in the socialist Czechoslovakia, and the museum´s activities in the new social conditions after November 1989.
