TY - SLIDE ID - 1405390 AU - Rabušicová, Milada PY - 2017 TI - Intergenerational Dialog as a Way to Sustainability: Young Children and Older People Acting Together KW - intergenerational dialog KW - preschool education KW - sustainable development KW - small children KW - older generation N2 - The leading question of my presentation is how interactions between young children and older people can develop better understanding between generations and can contribute to their well-being. Intergenerational dialogue was the method introduced within the OMEP world project to clarify the links between Education for Sustainable Development and life-long learning in terms of intergenerational cooperation. Thus, the first part of the presentation is based on analysis of data collected from countries participating in the OMEP World Project “International Dialogue for ESD”. The second part of the presentation is based on findings from the European project called Together Old and Young (TOY), which was designed in several European countries (including Poland) to research and develop good practice in intergenerational learning involving young children and older people. In the last part, an example of social practice from Austria and The Czech Republic, project named “Trojlístek” (“Shamrock”) will be presented. This project puts together families with small children and seniors – volunteers in the role of foster grandparents. Also other examples of activities created specifically for young children and older people to be together, to play together, and learn from each other will be showed. ER -
