Abstract
2017 EULETA Workshop with the title "The Enhancement of Writing Skills in Legal Contexts" provided an opportunity for presenting and sharing good practice from the area of teaching legal English. The participants came from various professional backgrounds: practising lawyers, translators as well as academics. Apart from offering a series of workshops, the event aso included the EULETA AGM. The individual workshops covered the following topics: Achieving Proficiency in Legal English (László Szabó), Improve Your Contracts By Using a Clear Structure (Alona Kiriak), Teaching Anglo-American Legal English to Legal Practitioners (Franz J. Heidinger), Developing Confidence in Writing Law-Related Texts for Under- and Post-Graduate Students of Legal English (Barbora Chovancova and Alena Hradilova), The Art of Drafting Legal Correspondence: Teaching Politeness Strategies to Second Language Learners (Helen Campbell), English: An Emerging Parallel Academic Language Besides National Language (Filip Křepelka).
