Abstract

Přednáška se bude věnovat fenoménu soudobého satanismu. Nejprve krátce představí historický kontext a inspirační vlivy moderního satanismu, jehož vznik lze datovat se založením Církve Satanovy (Church of Satan) na konci 60. let 20. století. Dále se bude věnovat společenské percepci satanismu, konkrétněji pak fenoménu satanistické paniky. Podoby soudobého satanismu přednáška představí na systému věr a praktik vybraných satanistických organizací a skupin jako Church of Satan, Temple of Set, The Satanic Temple, Order of Nine Angles, Church of Azazel. Část přednášky bude věnována také používání satanistického vyjádření v metalové hudbě, zejména pak v black metalu, kde tvoří jeho důležitou součást.

Abstract (in English)

The lecture will focus on the phenomenon of contemporary Satanism. In the beginning the lecture will briefly present a historical context and inspirational influences of modern Satanism, origins of which might possibly date back to foundation of the Church of Satan in the late 1960s. Furthermore, the lecture will deal with the social perception of Satanism, more specifically the phenomenon of Satanic Panic. The forms of contemporary Satanism will be presented on the system of believes and practices of selected Satanic organizations and groups such as Church of Satan, Temple of Set, The Satanic Temple, Order of Nine Angles and Church of Azazel. A part of the lecture will be devoted to the use of Satanic expression in metal music, especially in black metal where these kinds of expressions play an important role.
