Abstract

Konference se zaměří na vzájemný vztah náboženství a spirituality na straně jedné a metalové hudby a subkultury na straně druhé. Jejím cílem je postihnout prolínání obou sfér lidské činnosti v celé jeho šíři, a proto do sebe pojme jak názory nábožensky či spirituálně aktivních jedinců a organizací na metal a inkorporaci prvků hudby a subkultury do duchovního života, tak přítomnost náboženských či spirituálních témat a diskuze o nich v hudbě a subkultuře samotné. Konference je pojata jako interdisciplinární a je otevřena různým příspěvkům z oblasti religionistiky, antropologie, sociologie, mediálních studií, politologie, muzikologie, estetiky či jiných oborů. Naším záměrem je také vytvoření platformy pro studium metalové hudby a subkultury (metal studies) v českém a slovenském akademickém prostředí.

Abstract (in English)

The conference will focus on the relationship between religion and spirituality on one hand and metal music and subcultures on the other hand. Its goal is to capture the intersection of both spheres of human activity in its entirety, which means that the conference will perceive the views of religious or spiritually active people and organizations on metal music and the incorporation of elements of music and subcultures into spiritual life, as well as the presence of religious or spiritual themes and the discussion of them in music and subculture itself. The conference is designed to be an interdisciplinary meeting and is open to various contributions from the fields of religion, anthropology, sociology, media studies, political science, musicology, aesthetics and other domains. The intention of the conference is also to create a platform for metal studies on Czech and Slovak academic grounds.
