Abstract
My keynote speech on research ethics in education aims at the beginning and experienced researchers who want to learn more firstly about reasons why we should bother about research ethics, secondly about three basic principles of research ethics, and thirdly about ethical sensitivity. I will show real examples as well as possible scenarios of the ethical dimension of research in education. The role of university research ethics committee will also be discussed. In recent decades, a major shift has occurred in the ethical regulation of social science. One aspect of this is that the focus has moved from professional associations to the organizations in which social are employed: universities, research institutes, and research sites like hospitals. This issue will be subject to scrutiny.
