Abstract
The goal of this paper was to understand the reason of the presence of images (and cult) of milanese saints in the countryside near Salerno, in the Langobardia Minor. The possible answer can be seen in a desire to promote a culte hated by the lobards, as prove of the carolingian superiority. This movemente may heve been supported by a gift of relics (offered maybe by Angilbertus 2nd) used, than, as an instrument of ethnic exclusion.
