The 2D-resolved PROES measurement on singlet helium lines 667.8 and 728.1 nm provided a detailed electric field development in observed ionization waves. The method of PRSPC enabled us to record spectra during the dark phase of the discharge. A weak prebreakdown light, observed both with PROES and PRSPC and attributed to a bremsstrahlung radiation of electrons on helium atoms, served for a measurement of low electric fields about 1 Td in the dark phase ER -
