Abstract

The aim of this introduced article is to bring near The Culture of Wine in the Czech Republic in comparison with other countries in Central Europe. The Czech Republic is world known for its beer culture, however in distinct parts of South Moravia and Bohemia grapevine is cultivated. At the beginning we elucidate importance of local winemaking in scope of Central European region and its marginalized function in Europe, respectively in the world. We indicate most important local varieties and wine classification, how it was developed in time and will try to describe current state. We cannot forget, that grapevine growing is reflected in material, spiritual and social wine culture. We present most known and most important aspects and will try to compare them with other Central European countries. Beside other we introduce term cellar areal and will try to mention traditions and customs during whole winemaker`s year. What is typical for local wine culture and what is common for whole Central Europe? Knowledge comes from own field research, that is part of dissertation thesis named The Culture of Wine in Znojmo region (South Moravia).

Abstract (in Czech)

Cílem předkládaného příspěvku je příbližit vinařskou kulturu v České republice v komparaci s dalšími státy střední Evropy. Česko je známé ve světě především pivní kulturou, přitom se zde ale ve vybraných částech Moravy a Čech pěstuje víno. Na úvod si objasníme význam zdejšího vinařství v rámci středoevropského regionu a jeho marginalizovanou funkci v Evropě, potažmo ve světě. Naznačíme si nejdůležitější místní odrůdy a klasifikace vín tak, jak se rozvíjely během minulosti a pokusíme se popsat současný stav. Dále nesmí být opomenut fakt, že se pěstování vína projevuje v materiální, duchovní i sociální vinařské kultuře. Představíme si tedy ty nejznámější a nejdůležitější aspekty a pokusíme se je zkomparovat s dalšími státy střední Evropy. Mimo jiné si uvedeme pojem sklepní areál a pokusíme se zmínit zvyky a tradice během celého vinařova roku. Co je pro zdejší vinařskou kulturu typické a co je shodné v celé střední Evropě? Poznatky plynou z vlastního terénního výzkumu, který je uplatněn v právě vypracovávané disertační práci s názvem Vinařská kultura na Znojemsku.
