Abstract

Cílem prezentace je informovat odbornou veřejnost o projektu zpracování vzájemné korespondence Jana Nováka a jeho učitele Bohuslava Martinů v letech 1947-1959. Prameny k této práci jsou součástí nezpracované pozůstalosti Jana Nováka nově uložené v Českém muzeu hudby v Praze, jejíž odborný průzkum s ohledem na téma projektu bude společným týmem realizován z hlediska muzikologie vůbec poprvé. Klíčovým motivačním faktorem tohoto projektu je sté výročí narození skladatele Jana Nováka v roce 2021, ke kterému bude badatelský tým směřovat vydání knižní publikace. Vzhledem k tomu, že osobnost Jana Nováka doposud postrádá vlastní knižní monografii života a díla a rovněž katalog díla, měla by tato publikace posloužit jako první reprezentativní odborný vstup do problematiky jeho hudebního myšlení a komplikované životní dráhy. Zároveň by se měla stát výchozím bodem pro další biografické bádání, protože vztah Jana Nováka k Bohuslavu Martinů byl zásadní pro jeho celoživotní uměleckou orientaci.

Abstract (in English)

The aim of the presentation is to inform the academic public about the project of edition of the mutual correspondence of Jan Novák and his teacher Bohuslav Martinů in 1947-1959. The sources for this work are part of the unprocessed estate of Jan Novák, newly deposited at the Czech Museum of Music in Prague, whose expert research on the theme of the project will be realized by the joint team from the point of view of musicology for the first time. The key motivation factor of this project is the 100th anniversary of the birth of composer Jan Novák in 2021, to which the research team will direct the book publication. Since Jan Novák's personality still lacks his own book monograph of life and work, as well as a catalogue of works, this publication should serve as the first representative academic entry into the issues of his musical thinking and complicated career path. At the same time, it should become the starting point for further biographical research, since Jan Novák's relationship with Bohuslav Martinů was crucial for his lifelong artistic orientation.
