Abstract
This case study deals with the church of Saint-Etienne in Nevers. The church has been marked out as a "pilgrimage church" for its appearance. We explore context of the building campaign in an attempt to understand what intention the builder had when donating the church. We read the building as a structure for salvation of (not only) his soul.
