Abstract

V originále

The lecture presented the Baroque writer G.B. Basile and theatrical elements in his work. As prominent scholars used to do, Basile moved from court to court and wrote poems, musical dramas and pastoral plays for his patrons. This activity was an existential necessity for him, while, presumably for his pleasure, he collected inspiration in various places in Italy, which he was in charge of, and wrote Lo Cunto de li Cunti, a collection of the first literary European fairy-tales that made him famous posthumously. The direct allusions, as well as possible influences of theatre forms on comic and tragicomic situations in Basile's fairy-tales, were discussed, with a special emphasis on three fairy-tales with Cupid and Psyche motifs.
