Abstract
The aim of the lecture was to discuss long-term consequences of re-settlement of population, which took place in the Czech borderland after the World War II. Four sets of consequences have been discussed: in population structure, in family values, in voting behavior, and in landscape. The development in the Czech Republic was related to forced resettlement which took place during the civil war (1983 - 2009) in Sri Lanka.
