Abstract
This chapter presents a methodological elaboration of experiment in Gestalt therapy. It complements the existing literature with a pragmatic and practical attempt to explore and cultivate experiment as a specific intervention, which is often used in the daily practice of Gestalt therapists. It can help Gestalt therapists to use this kind of intervention with more awareness of its benefit, limitations, and can also enable them to integrate it meaningfully into the whole of the therapy process. The text identifies the intentions, indications, procedure and also the risks and limits of experiment, and so it creates a basis for a systematic use and research-based evaluation of this specific aspect of the Gestalt therapy approach.
