Abstract

Guido List – für einige seiner Zeitgenossen „der Meister“, für andere ein verwirrter Autodidakt, für die meisten Menschen des 21. Jahrhunderts ein zu Recht vergessener Schriftsteller und Denker, für verschiedene zumeist obskure Gruppierungen ein Prophet, der auf seine Entdeckung wartet. Nicht nur seine Persönlichkeit, sondern auch seine Theorien sind voll von Widersprüchen. Seine Texte balancieren an der Grenze von Fiktion und historischer Darstellung, Roman und Geschichtsessay, Umwertung antiker Tradition und Prägung eines Neuheidentums. Das vorliegende Buch bringt eine gründlichere Analyse der vergessenen literarischen Texte von diesem eigenartigen Prophet der österreichischen Alldeutschen, der heute in den Kulturwissenschaften vornehmlich als vorläufer des Nationalsozialismus bekannt ist.

Kniha analyzuje rané dílo spisovatele a zakladatele ariosofie Guida Lista (1848-1919). Guido List je v ní představen jako zvláštní typ autora, poeta vates. Práce jeho dílo analyzuje jako silně ideologicky zatížené. V analytické části se zaměřuje na román Carnuntum (1888), který je brán jako příkladný text pro bližší popis Listova způsobu psaní a argumentačních strategií. Navazující, diskurzivně orientované kapitoly práce se zabývají Listovým pojetím role ženy v germánské společnosti a kultuře a jeho antisemitismem. Na základě těchto diskurzivních polí jsou v práci identifikovány kořeny jeho ideologie a je podniknut pokus o dekonstrukci jeho argumentace.

Abstract (in English)

The book analyzes the early work of the writer and founder of Ariosophie Guido List (1848–1919). Guido List is presented as a special type of author, as a poeta vates. It studies his work primarily as strong ideological texts. In the analytical part it focuses on the roman Carnuntum (1888) which is considered as an example to describe Lists writing und argumentative strategies in detail.In its discursive chapters about Lists interpretation of the role of a woman in the germanic society and culture and his antisemitismus this diploma thesis identifies the roots of Lists ideology and tries to deconstruct his argumentation. The work is primarily intended for historians and literary scholars dealing with the German movement Völkische Bewegung (1870–1930). It also generally touches on the research of conservative thinking as well as other topics, such as the history of modern religious movements (ariosophie).
