This paper summarizes the results of the research carried out for the dissertation thesis titled Animals as Magical Ingredients in the Epigraphical sources in the Area of Roman Empire. It focuses on the animal ingredients used in the ancient magical tradition. Epigraphical sources are divided into three categories - ancient literature, Greek magical papyri and Curse tablets. Presence of animal ingredients in each of these is discussed.
