The new directive holds a popular name “on open data and the re-use of public sector information” (so-called “Open Data Directive”). One of the traditional areas of conflict surrounding PSI and Open Data is the protection of personal data. This contribution aims to compare, how is this conflict present and solved in the current PSI Directive and the new Open Data Directive. In the first part, the article briefly presents the new Open Data Directive and accents the most important novelties, which it brought. In the second part, the contribution generally focuses on the conflict of PSI (Open Data) in light of the current PSI Directive and personal data protection. In the third part, the contribution presents, how Open Data Directive approaches personal data, and what can be expected from the new legal situation. ER -
