Anotace

Certaines quadrumanes, d’autres bipedes, les hordes d’anthropoides se livrent batailles pour dominer la savane maternelle, enlever les femelles, évincer les mâles concurrentiels. Entre l’éthologie et l’éthique, la société et la mémoire se constituent au moyen de la magie de la parole. Pour concilier trois hordes ennemies et fonder la tribu, le jeune Guito, narrateur, imagine le récit fondateur. La langue expérimentale, corporelle, du roman de Bessette cherche a s’inscrire dans la mens animale de l’homme préhistorique. En meme temps, l’effort de Guito est celui de l’apprentissage de la parole, pris en étau entre la vérité et l’efficacité. L’analyse porte a la fois sur les particularités du vocabulaire corporel et son insertion dans la narration qui se constitue. Si Les Anthropoides offrent un autre avatar du romancier fictif (Belleau, Černíková), ils sont aussi une réflexion sur la relation entre la littérature et la société.

Anotace česky

Tlupy anthropoidů, z nichž někteří již s chůzí vzpřímenou, jíní pak ještě lidoopí, bojují v savaně o loviště, unášejí si samice a soupeří o ně mezi samci. Postupně se utvářejí etické principy a vzniká společnost založená na paměti. Proto hlavní úloha náleží slovu a vyprávění. Vypravěč Guito má za úkol smířit tři znepřátelené tlupy a pro ten účel musí vytvořit zakladatelský příběh - mýtus. Gérard Bessette v románě používá experimentální řeč vystihující tělesnost, jazyk a cítění těla. POmocí řeči se obraznost vymaňuje z konkrétna a míří k abstrakci. Zároveň je Guito postaven před etický úkol smířit pravdu s účinností příběhu. Analýza ukazuje, jak se jazyk těla přetváří v naraci. Je to příspěvek k teorii fikčního vypravěče (Belleau, Černíková) i k reflexi o vztahu mezi literaturou a společností v Quebeku 70. let 20. století.

Bands of anthropoids, some still quadrumane, other already biped, fight with each other for dominating the savannah, abducting females, eliminating competitive males. Between ethology and ethics, the human society and the memory are constituted by the magic of speech. A young narrator, Guito, tries to figure out the founding story of a future tribe by reconciling three enemy bands. The experimental, corporeal language of Bessette’s novel seeks to enter into the animal mind of the prehistoric man. At the same time, Guito’s apprenticeship of a powerful storytelling is caught between the truth and the efficiency. The analysis is divided into two chapters: the first one describes the corporeal vocabulary at different levels of the text; the second one pays attention to the axiology of the storytelling, namely its ethical aspects and consequences. The character of the storyteller Guito represents an interesting variant of a romancier fictif (Belleau, Černíková) in the frame of Quebec literature. Moreover the novel offers an intense reflection on the relationship between literature and society, that one of the 1970’s in particular.
