V originále

Schistocyty jsou cirkulující fragmenty erytrocytů. Vznikají mechanickým poškozením membrány erytrocytu fibrinovými vlákny na cévním endotelu či při nadměrné turbulenci krve. Schistocyty jsou vždy menší než intaktní erytrocyty a chybí jim centrální projasnění.

Schistocytes are circulating fragments of red blood cells. They occurs as a result of mechanical damage to the membrane caused by fibrin strands or excess of turbulence of blood. Schistocytes are always smaller then intactes red blood cells and lack central pallor.
