Abstract
A lecture on Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet as an example of an early-modern English tragedy. Special attention was paid to Shakespeare's dramaturgy, character delineation and the development of the plot. These demonstrated the main conventions and tendencies of early-modern English drama.
