Abstract

The presentation focused on examining whether an Edo period bestseller, Nise Murasaki inaka Genji, that was often labeled as parody, really bears the necessary signs of parody, considering various theories of parody. After introducing the Japanese discourse on derivative works of popular literature, I examined some specific examples from Nise monogatari, Furyu Genji monogatari and Nise Murasaki inaka Genji to demonstrate the limits of the use of the term parody considering the social, textual and readerly aspects of the works.

Prezentace měla za cíl prozkoumat, zda dílo Nise Murasaki inaka Gendži, bestseller populární literatury období Edo, které bylo často označováno za parodii, skutečně nese nutné znaky parodie, s přihlédnutím k různým pojetím parodie. Představil jsem japonský diskurz vážící se k derivativním dílům populární literatury a na konkrétních příkladech děl Nise monogatari, Fúrjú Gendži monogatari a Nise Murasaki inaka Gendži jsem demonstroval limity využití pojmu parodie s přihlédnutím ke společenským, textovým a čtenářským aspektům těchto děl.
