Abstract
This presentation is discussing recent changes in kinship terminology of Western and Southern Slavic languages. It focuses on innovations that gained significant role in Western Slavic languages and uses data from Southern Slavic languages to compare the situation in the two areas. The aim of this paper is to examine if the situation regarding kinship terms innovations is the same in Southern Slavic languages and in what directions might the development of kinship terminology in these languages continue in the future.
