Abstract

Prezentovaný výzkum reaguje na chybějící znalosti o studentech, kteří neuspějí u maturitní zkoušky, a jejich dalších osudech. Předmětem výzkumu je percepce důvodů neúspěchu u maturitní zkoušky a další životní dráha neúspěšných maturantů, zvláště s ohledem na jejich další vzdělávací dráhu po dobu dvou let. Výzkum je realizován prostřednictvím hloubkového kvalitativního šetření. V první vlně sběru dat, jejíž výsledky budou v příspěvku prezentované, přistoupíme k retrospektivnímu zkoumání drah studentů, kteří neuspěli u maturitní zkoušky již v době před začátkem realizace projektu. Konkrétně se bude jednat o neúspěšné maturanty z roku 2018, které tak bude možné zkoumat retrospektivně s ohledem na jejich další vzdělávací a životní dráhu dva roky po jejich prvním neúspěchu u maturity.

Abstract (in English)

The present research supplements existing available data on the upper secondary school-leaving examination failure rate by designing a qualitative inquiry on students’ perception of failure causes and their subsequent life and educational pathways. The research design is the life history approach. The data presented in the paper come from the pilot part of the study, with ten students who failed to pass the school-leaving examination in various types of schools and from various areas. In the pilot study, we apply a particular life history approach – the retrospective life history version. The pilot study biographic interviews recall what happened in the life of these students during the two years after this failure experience. The pilot study not only provides rich data material for analysis but also prepares researchers for the following part of the research, in which another group of students will be observed.
