Anotace
In this session, 2020 Fulbright Alum Dr. Roman Baláž presents "migrant integration" as a highly structured multi-dimensional issue, which is closely connected to a national state, national identity, concentration of political power, ways of governance and social institutions. The term "migrant integration" is understood as the incorporation of migrants into the polities of the receiving societies in their day-to-day life. Dr. Baláž pays particular attention to the relations between migrant integration and the market model of immigration, which has been growing stronger in the USA and various European countries. The final intertwining exposes societal risks that emerge from both an emphasis on economic aspects of immigration and the lack of migrant integration.
