Abstract
Late antique combs are still marginalized objects in art historical research. The purpose of this intervention was to propose a first analysis of combs decorated with Christian narrative scenes. The result of this investigation, based on the function of the combs in previous centuries, on archaeological excavations and on visual comparisons, has allowed us to propose an unprecedented function for these objects. According to all the elements at our disposal, they must have been linked to Christian initiation.
