Abstract
The paper focused on the possible role of ivory diptychs in the baptismal liturgy. The main question was if they could have been an integral part of the incredible synergy of the baptismal ritual, and helped to create the strongest experience of human life in the time of gradual but relatively rapid Christianization of the vast Roman Empire, ie 4., 5 and the 6th century.
