Abstract
Each of the five studies in this special issue of Cognitive Linguistic Studies (7:2) present their own unique way of how information structure and flow can be approached from a cognitive linguistic perspective. We believe such an approach to be crucial. The complexitites of language and human psychology as separate fields are far from being completely unraveled. The ways in which the two interact is more complex still, and it will require much more effort to achieve a better understanding of it. It is our conviction that the collection papers in this issue is one humble contribution to that effort, approaching the subject from its own particular angle and using its own specific tools.
