Eye tracking has proven itself as one of the methods that can aid such effort. There are multiple methods and applications to eye tracking; this paper is to focus on one of them: tracking whole objects in a head-mounted display tied to a 3D real-time engine. The paper covers the issues of designing virtual environments suitable for this method and the process of acquiring and evaluating data. Exploratory data collection involving a stationary virtual scene in virtual reality was conducted and evaluated. Follow-up discussion elaborates on applicability, good practices, shortcomings and workarounds regarding the method. ER -
