Abstract
The mature plays of John Fletcher, Shakespeare's collaborator and successor with the King's Men, have received little critical attention. This book analyzes the specifics of mature Fletcherian style, proposing a reading that agrees with the Baroque mode. Special attention is given to anachronistic conventions that have been applied to Fletcherian drama.
Abstract (in Czech)
Vrcholným hrám Johna Fletchera (1579-1625), Shakespearova spolupracovníka a pokračovatele, byla věnována jen malá pozornost. Monografie analyzuje specifika her, které napsal Fletcher v období 1613-1625, a nabízí výklad v duchu raně barokního stylu. Poukazuje i na anachronistické požadavky, kterými byly fletcherovské hry doposud posuzovány.
