Abstract
Polyethylene glycol (PEG) was considered as a gold standard in bowel preparation before colonoscopy for a long time. Its main disadvantage is high volume (4l). Low volume solutions: oral sulphate-based solution (OSS), low volume PEG + ascorbic acid (2L-PEG/Asc) and sodium picosulphate + magnesium citric-acid solution (SP/MC) might be appropriate substitution of PEG.
