Když totiž člověk dlouze jde, zažívá synchronizaci těla a mysli, která vyvolává specifické hormonální reakce. Ty, v návaznosti na vyplavování adrenalinu či endorfinu, vedou k jedinečným zážitkům nejen z přírody, ale i z památek, které chodec potkává. Překvapivě to také proměňuje jeho schopnost navazovat vztahy s náhodnými kolemjdoucími a způsob, jakým ho ostatní vnímají. Je tomu tak však i ve městě? Je možné zažít podobný transformativní zážitek v rámci městského ekosystému? Na příkladu tří měst, v nichž jsem dlouho žil – Říma, Moskvy a New Yorku – bych chtěl v této přednášce ukázat, nakolik může nekonečné procházení městem zásadně změnit naši zkušenost. Mou premisou bude fakt, že město je do jisté míry živý organismus, vytvářený nejen stěnami a ulicemi, ale také lidmi, kteří každodenně plní jeho ulice. Je nutné připomenout, že město vzniká v neustálém napětí mezi snahou o strukturovaný vývoj, který podporují především politické autority, a anarchickým pohybem „zezdola“, zapříčiněným obyvateli, kteří si město neustále přizpůsobují k obrazu svému. V rámci přednášky bych tedy tři zmiňované ekosystémy chtěl představit jako místa, která chodce zásadně proměňují a která jsou zároveň přetvářena – v imaginaci i realitě – k jeho obrazu. ER -
