Abstract

Přítomný nekrolog pojednává o osobnosti českého odborníka na ruskou literaturu Miroslava Zahrádky, autora desítek knih a studií věnovaných hlavně čtyřem vědeckým oblastem: ruské válečné literatuře, někdy i ve srovnávací perspektivě, česko-ruským literárním vztahům, poetice význačných postav jak klasické, tak moderních ruských spisovatelů a v neposlední řadě lexikografickým dílům včetně dvou edic Malého slovníku česko-ruských literárních vztahů (Osobnosti ruské literatury v českém prostředí). Per aspera ad astra: Jeho studie o ruské literatuře byly vždy tvrdým bojem s kluzkostí literárního materiálu a vytrvalým hledáním tematických a ideologických kontextů; jeho konkrétnost a konciznost, stejně jako jeho schopnost kritického posouzení pramenů a umění zhuštěných formulací představují Zahrádkovu sílu jako literárního vědce, jenž tvaruje jeho charakter a jeho nenahraditelné postavení v československé rusistice.

Abstract (in English)

The present obituary deals with the personality of the Czech specialist in Russian literature Miroslav Zahrádka, author of tens of books and hundreds of studies mainly devoted to the four scholarly spheres: Russian war literature, sometimes even in comparative perspective, Czech - Russian literary relations, poetics of significant figures of both classical and modern Russian writers, and, last but not least, lexicographical works, including the two editions of the Minor Dictionary of Czech-Russian Literary Relations (The Personalities of Russian Literatures in the Czech Environment). Per aspera ad astra: His studies in Russian literature has always been a hard struggle with the slipperiness of literary material and persistent search for thematic and ideological contexts; his concreteness and conciseness as well as his ability of the critical assessment of sources and the art of condensed formulations represent Zahrádka’s strength as a literary critic which forms his character and his irreplaceable position in Czechoslovak Russian studies.
