Abstract

Do roku 2050 lze dle organizace OSN pro výživu a zemědělství očekávat nárůst populace na 9.7 miliard lidí, přičemž v této souvislosti bude nezbytné zvýšit zemědělskou produkci o cca 60 %. Již dnes je ovšem jisté, že půjde o rozvoj zemědělství v situaci měnícího se klimatu a zhoršování životního prostředí. Na celoevropské úrovni se tak stává prioritou nalezení udržitelných způsobů (nejen) zemědělství. Jednou z možností, jak těmto výzvám v oblasti zemědělství čelit, může představovat akvaponie, jež spojuje pěstování plodin a chov ryb bez nutnosti využívat půdu. Již v roce 2015 Evropský parlament v jedné ze svých studií označil akvaponii jako jednu z technologií, která může změnit naše životy. Jaké je ovšem postavení této nové technologie v legislativě Evropské unie a České republiky? Předložený článek se zaměřuje na rešerši aktuálního právního statusu této činnosti a analýzu relevantní právní úpravy.

Abstract (in English)

According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations the population will grow to 9.7 billion by 2050, and due to this fact, it will be necessary to increase agricultural production about 60 %. However, it is already nearly certain that this development will take place in a situation of changing climate and environmental degradation. So finding sustainable ways of agriculture becomes a priority throughout the European Union. One way to meet these agricultural challenges can be aquaponics, which combines crop farming and fish farming without the need to use land. In 2015 the European Parliament in one of its studies identified aquaponics as one of the technologies that can change our lives. What is the position of this new technology in the legislation of the European Union and the Czech Republic? The presented article focuses on the search of the current legal status of this activity and the analysis of the relevant legislation.
