Abstract
Blood pressure in highly variable, from moment to moment, withing a day, and from day to day. The circadian rhythm accounts for a large proportion of the variability in BP. Nonetheless, the diagnosis of hypertension often relies on just a few measurements, a situation in need to be rectified since BP variability also affects cardiovascular disease risk.
