Abstract
Lyudmila Ivanovna Shestakova, née Glinka, was a younger sister of Mikhail Ivanovich Glinka, the father of Russian music. She took care of her brother’s legacy after his death and spread awareness of his music. Because of his operas, she went to Prague and befriended here among others Josef Kolář, with whom she corresponded. Her memories of Prague and Letters to Kolář are an interesting source of learning the Czech-Russian musical relations.
