Anotace

Bien que sans prétention théorique, Grammaire-Grimoire du français permet une saisie originale de l’oeuvre majeure de Lucien Tesniere : Éléments de syntaxe structurale (1959). Si la théorie de la valence verbale a directement été importée depuis la chimie en syntaxe, dans son introduction Christophe Cusimano imagine au contraire Lucien Tesniere sous les traits d’un chimiste féru de grammaire. Ce manuel présente ensuite d’un point de vue didactique et ludique les grands principes de la syntaxe structurale de Lucien Tesniere. Christophe Cusimano s’appuie en particulier sur la notion de translation dans son exposé paradigmatique des parties du discours et des structures syntaxiques. Ce travail est illustré de nombreuses représentations graphiques : si Tesniere avait coutume d’utiliser les stemmas, l’auteur fait ici le choix d’y ajouter des arbres syntaxiques pour points de comparaison. Le manuel comporte également des exercices susceptibles d’aider les étudiants dans leur découverte de la syntaxe de Tesniere.

Without theoretical ambition, Grammar-Grimoire of French allows an original comprehension of the major work of Lucien Tesniere: Elements of Structural Syntax (1959). If the theory of verbal valence has been directly imported since chemistry syntax, in his introduction Christophe Cusimano introduces instead Lucien Tesniere in the guise of a chemist interested in grammar. This handbook then presents from a didactic and playful point of view the main principles of the structural syntax of Lucien Tesniere. Christophe Cusimano relies in particular on the notion of translation in his paradigmatic presentation of the parts of speech and syntactic structures. This work is illustrated with many graphical representations: if Tesniere used to use the stemmas, the author has choosen to add syntactic trees as for comparison. The handbook also includes exercises that can help students in discovering Tesniere's syntax.
