Abstract
Cortical Function (CF) is a higher cognitive function, which includes features such as motor planning, construction of body image, motor learning, proprioceptive perception etc. CF mature as one of the last part of brain development. Psychomotor development and motor adaptation depend on cortical plasticity. Maturation of these CF leads to conscious control of movement, motor learning, the ability to consciously perceive the body and function of somatosensory attention. Disorder of CF most often occurs in the perinatal period or during the early stages of development in 6–10% of the population. This so-called Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) can have different severities and therefore different impacts upon the quality of life. For children from 3 to 16 years of age a standardized MABC-2 testing has been created. There are currently no standardized tests for adults. The aim of the research is to create a test battery that would evaluate the level of CF. This battery contains 11 tests and requires a few simple tools. We can evaluate the success of physical interventions by utilizing this testing before and after, to select talented athletes or to capture undiagnosed DCD.
