Abstract
Recent advances in the field of virtual reality provide great opportunities for research of human cognitive processes. These technologies allow researchers to study human perception as well as cognitive processes in ecologically valid, yet well-controlled conditions. The specific research areas including memory research, evacuation behavior research and pilot training were discussed as potentially promising areas to be explored with the use of modern state-of-the-art technologies relevant such as VR, 3D visualization technologies and eye-tracking.
