Abstract

Vzhledem k místu konání – mezi Prahou, Bratislavou a Vídní – jsme jako letošní téma zvolili příznačné zaměření: Mezi Východem a Západem: Tradice středoevropského prostoru? Středoevropský prostor bývá v literatuře často zmiňován jako magické místo setkávání kultur, myšlenek a umění. Tvoří také politický svazek, který se odvolává na společné hodnoty, ideje a kořeny. Zatímco v kulturní oblasti najdeme důkazů o existenci středoevropské jedinečnosti celou řadu, v oblasti estetiky situace není zdaleka tak jednoznačná. Nakolik je středoevropské estetické myšlení pod vlivem jiných euroamerických myšlenkových škol? Existuje vůbec něco, co bychom mohli označit za středoevropskou estetiku?

Abstract (in English)

Due to the venue - between Prague, Bratislava and Vienna - Between East and West: Traditions of Central European Space? The Central European space is often mentioned in literature as a magical meeting place of cultures, ideas and art. It also forms a political union that refers to common values, ideas and roots. While in the cultural sphere there is a great deal of evidence for the existence of Central European uniqueness, the situation in the aesthetic sphere is not nearly so clear-cut. To what extent is Central European aesthetic thought influenced by other Euro-American schools of thought? Is there anything at all that could be described as Central European aesthetics?
