Abstract

Publikace přibližuje tradiční transport materiálu v pohoří Krkonoš, Šumavy, Západních Beskyd a Javorníků. Záměrně bylo vybráno výzkumné teritorium, které spojuje horský charakter, ale přitom z hlediska historie, etnické skladby či příslušnosti ke kulturním areálům se liší. Účelem práce je přinést syntézu tradičního horského transportu v českých zemích na příkladu čtyř pohoří. Autor rovněž odkrývá historické, sociální, etnické i přírodní faktory, které přispívaly k formování a diferenciaci svébytných podob a forem tradičního transportu pro jednotlivá pohoří. Cílem monografie je také zhodnocení dosavadního vývoje bádání v tomto odvětví etnologie.

Abstract (in English)

The Book Traditional Transport in the Mountains paper writes about traditional transport of materials in the Giant Mountains, Bohemian Forest, Western Beskids, and the Javorníky Mountains. We intentionally chose a research territory which features the mountainous nature but which is diverse in terms of history, ethnic structure, and affiliation to cultural areas. The aim of this paper is to present a synthesis of traditional mountain transport in the Czech lands using an example of four mountain ranges. I also want to point out historical, social, ethnic, and natural factors that contributed to the formation and differentiation of distinctive forms and types of traditional transport in individual mountain ranges. The monograph also aims to assess the hitherto development of the research within this branch of ethnology.
