Abstract
The paper discusses some of the material, physical, emoptional, and technological barriers humanoid robots have faced in their use with active agers and in community settings. It highlights the unexpected benefits of the negagement with the Pepper robot. Conclusions for the future of the ageing and the silver economy were presented
