Abstract

Článek se soustředí na rozměrný 12-dílný paraván původně v majetku rodu Liechtensteinů, nyní ve sbírkách SZ Valtice. Je zdobený technikou koromandelského laku a byl vyroben v čínské provincii Fujian jako dar k padesátým narozeninám vysokého úředníka a jeho choti. Tyto okolnosti jsou uvedeny v oslavném textu z roku 1683, vyrytém spolu se jmény donátorů na zadní ploše paravánu. Na přední ploše je bohatý výjev s postavami v zahradním paláci, který se vztahuje k jistému Zhang Gongyimu z dynastie Hou Jin (936-946), postavě symbolizující dlouhověkost a početnou rodinu. Článek obsahuje nejen podrobný popis výjevu a jeho dekorativního lemu, ale též pojednává o historii výroby koromandelských laků.

Abstract (in English)

This article describes a large screen made of 12 panels, originally owned by the Liechtenstein family, now belonging to the collections of the State château Valtice. The technique used is that of Coromandel lacquer, the screen was made in the Chinese province of Fujian in the year 1683. These facts were recorded in the laudatory text carved on the reverse face of the screen, together with the names of the donors. On the averse face, there is a rich depiction of figures in a garden palace, referring to a certain Zhang Gongyi of the Hou Jin dynasty (936-946) who symbolized longevity and plentiful family. The article not only describes this scene and its decorative border, but also presents a survey of the production of Coromandel lacquers.
