Abstract (in English)
The goal of this paper is to determine whether unemployment in individual regions of the Czech Republic converges over time or not. Based on confirming the presence of convergence, the relationship between this convergence and business cycle is examined. The first section covers the definition and description of convergence from the perspective of economic theory based on a literature review. The second section focuses on the description of the used data and the methodology assessed throughout the thesis. The third section follows with empirical testing and presents the results acquired from the testing of β-convergence and σ-convergence. The conclusion comments on the results of the testing and the possibilities for further research.
